The Clinic is held prior to the IRB Adelaide Sevens (20-21 March) and the Hong Kong Sevens (26-28 March) and is designed for those teams preparing for Adelaide and Hong Kong, though would also suit FIRA-AER nations looking to excel on the European tour, or NACRA unions striving for gold at the CAC Games.
The Clinic will provide Rugby Sevens teams and their coaching staff with the opportunity to be exposed to, and learn from, legends of the Sevens game who have played or coached at the highest level.
There will be a strong emphasis on individual skills that relate specifically to the game of Rugby Sevens, tactical appreciation, strength and conditioning, nutrition and the mental focus and routines required to play at the top.
Teams will be provided with “leading edge” training techniques and the IRANZ staff will work through team strategy, tactics and the implementation of a suitable game plan that matches the strengths and weaknesses of the team.
The specialist coaches will work with the teams throughout the five-day clinic, providing one-on-one tuition to players, watching them play in matches and reviewing their individual and team performances by using video analysis.
