Academy Facilities at the Royal New Zealand Police College, Wellington, New Zealand
Located just north of Wellington City, the Royal New Zealand Police College was formerly used by the Hurricanes Super 12 team as their training venue.
Conference Facilities
There is a range of conference rooms available, including three lecture theatres, eight meeting rooms and 16 classrooms. They vary in capacity from eight to 120 people. All conference rooms are suitable for audio-visual displays and can be fully or partially darkened.
Sports Facilities
Sports facilities include a swimming pool, tennis courts, gym, sports field, running track and fitness centre.
The fitness centre has a number of aerobic training machines such as bikes, steppers and rowing machines. It also has a large weight training area.
Social
A bar and social and games room are located on the premises.
Accommodation
Single Rooms
The university hostel-style rooms are located in an attractive bush setting in three multi-level accommodation blocks. There are four to six rooms on each level, with two toilets and one shower as shared facilities. Each room is made up with linen and towels and is complete with study desk. Each accommodation block has a laundry with washing machines, dryers and a drying room. Each floor has irons and ironing boards.
To complement these rooms, there are two large lounges complete with SKY television, and VCRs.
Flats
The split-level flats comprise of one double and one single bedroom, and there is one flat containing two single bedrooms. Each flat also contains a bathroom, lounge and kitchen with full cooking facilities. All flats are complete with linen and are serviced daily. Each unit has off street parking.
Chalets
There are six chalets, which are double bed units with ensuite and kitchenette. Linen is provided and all chalets are serviced daily. Each chalet has off street parking. All flats and chalets feature complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, laundry and ironing facilities.
Telephone and coin/card phones are situated around the academy.
Munro Sports Shop
The Munro Sports Shop stocks a wide range of sports gear at below normal retail prices. Items available include everything from cycle pants and swimwear to fleece jackets and sports bags.
10-8 Coffee Shop
Here you can buy food, drink, snacks and icecreams, and also greeting cards, stationery, stamps, a small range of toiletries and film for your camera. Film developing is also available.
