IRANZ will again be holding its annual Development Course for both players and coaches at the Sport and Rugby Institute in Palmerston North 12-19 December 2009. The Players course is suitable for talented club players aged 18 years and older and could be seen as a reward for a player who has shown outstanding performances throughout the '09 club season.
The coaches course will cater for ambitious club coaches who have made a significant contribution to their local rugby environment and will continue to do so when they return from their IRANZ experience.
The Players course is suitable for talented club players aged 18 years and older and could be seen as a reward for a player who has shown outstanding performances throughout the '09 club season. The player is likely to be a candidate who will make a significant impact in your club environment over the years to come, not only through their playing performances but also with their leadership on and off the field.
The coaches course will cater for ambitious club coaches who have made a significant contribution to their local rugby environment and will continue to do so when they return from their IRANZ experience. Both courses will be held over an eight day period and will focus on club rugby and the skills required by players and coaches to achieve success in this environment. Our positional specialists will again be on hand to work with the course participants on the technical, tactical, mental and physical roles and responsibilities of each position. Planning a season programme, rugby specific conditioning, individual and team skills, mental toughness, nutrition and leadership in the rugby community will all be important parts of the programmes. The cost of both the Development Players' and Development Coaches' course is $3,500(incl. GST) per player/coach.
We will continue to provide our popular three day Practical Coaching Course for club coaches which is held during the weekend of the Wellington sevens, 5-7 February 2010.
