High Performance Course boasts excellent coaching line-up

Wednesday, 8 June 2011

It’s that time of the year where we have icons of the game congregate on the same field to make a significant difference in South African Rugby.   It’s The Investec International Rugby Academy’s flagship High Performance Course running from 5 – 24 June at Konka Game Reserve and Camps in Rustenburg.  This incredible position specific course for players and coaches is focused on taking the aspiring professionals to new heights and to achieve milestones beyond comprehension.

Greg Miller, GM of the Investec International Rugby Academy and skills specialist coach, has confirmed that the coaching line up for the course is something to be admired. Not only will the players and coaches learn from the expertise of all the Investec International Rugby Academy coaches, but the Academy are proud to announce that international coaches: John Connolly, Dick Muir, Gary Gold, and John Mitchell will be presenting on various topics and modules.

What makes this course so successful and of high demand is the amount of detail and knowledge being shared by all the specialists involved. Unlike other academies and courses,  the Investec International Rugby Academy only accepts 2 players per position.

Position experts for this course include: John Allan, Johan Ackermann, Ian MacDonald, John Mitchell, Rob Kempson, Dick Muir, Corne Krige, Breyton Paulse, Andries Strauss, and former All Blacks Justin Marshall and Murray Mexted.

We are excited to see what results come of this course as we’ve had huge success in the past with 19 of our players making their provincial sides, and some making the SA U20 squad.

‘It is rewarding to see the players improve throughout the three weeks. Their own personal knowledge of their role in a team increases by spending time and being coached by their own positional specific coaches, team coaches and module presenters. This is so much more than just a rugby course – it is a life changing experience to all involved’ said Miller, and he feels that every talented rugby player will benefit from this not only as a player but as a person as well.
