The International Rugby Academy is undertaking a coaching clinic for the Italian Rugby Union in Parma, just south of Milan, in Italy this week. I’m delighted to say that we will run a clinic for Italian coaches who are from all corners of the country, and the theme of the clinic is 'NZ Philosophy on Attack'. This is particularly pertinent following the NZ Under 20s performance in the Junior World Cup. It was quite clear that the NZ team were a step above in their attack than any other team in this competition, and this has been the case for the last four years. I’m also delighted to say that Chris Boyd - the NZ Under 20 back coach will facilitate this clinic. We have also pulled in assistance from another New Zealander, Tony Hanks – formally from Waikato and currently head coach of Wasps. It seems appropriate to utilise some of the NZ rugby expertise that live in the northern hemisphere.
