IRANZ Course Facilitator and Staff Coach, Chris Boyd, has been appointed the new Lions Head Coach. The former Tawa club coach has been confirmed as Andre Bell's replacement, signing up for two seasons.
Boyd was the Lions' assistant to John Plumtree from 2003 to 2006 before the pair headed to South Africa, where they guided the Sharks Super Rugby side for two years.
Boyd was also Mark Anscombe's assistant with the New Zealand Under 20s this year and also the technical adviser for Tonga's World Cup campaign.
