Intermediate Course – 14 – 18 June 2010

It is yet another successful course under the belt for the Investec International Rugby Academy held at Hoërskool Waterkloof in Pretoria last week.  The Intermediate course which ran from 14 – 18 June for school boys aged 14 - 16 years added a somewhat different flair to their school holiday.  These youngsters brought their enthusiasm and dedication to the field and had the opportunity to enhance their rugby skills and knowledge and to up their game by receiving focused position specific coaching, mental toughness, nutrition and supplementation and to understand their role as part of the team.  The Intermediate Course for 2010 kicked off to a great start with Ian McIntosh (former Springbok coach and selector) facilitating the coaches course with Braam van Staaten whilst Greg Miller facilitated the players course.  There were a host of specialists who joined us including Johan Visage, Thys Stoltz, Tim Goodenough, Pieter Muller, Ian MacDonald, Dougie Heymans, Johan Roets, Joost van der Westhuizen, Andre Snyman, Paul Anthony, Leon Boshoff, Bennie Nortje, Johan Ackerman,  Ruan Fourie  and Dr Theo Koen.  A mixed team of boys played a game of semi-contact rugby with this ending the course off with commitment from forty-five boys who enjoyed their game time whilst coaches watched intently at the style and form the professionals handled the position specific coaching. The players, parents and coaches enjoyed a social and presentation enthralled at the success of the course.  A special thank you to all our coaches who make our course’s the success that they are.

The next course is the Advanced Course (for boys 16 – 18 year olds and school and club coaches) which will run from 25 September – 1 October at Monument High School.
