Background
- Having grown up in one of New Zealand’s best-known ‘foodie’ households, Simon has a passion for food and cooking! He has co-authored a number (16) of best selling cookbooks with his mother Alison, has completed two ‘solo’ books, and is presently working on a third. (Combined total book sales are now in excess of 700 000 copies).
- In addition to books, Simon contributes to various newspapers, AA Directions magazine, and for the past few years has been performing ‘live’ with Alison at fundraising cooking shows around the country. Recently he has also taken a number of smaller ‘hands on’ cooking classes for athletes associated for the NZ Academy of Sport.
- This year he was an assessor for the New Zealand Beef & Lamb Hallmark of Excellence program and has also been a judge at the New Zealand Cheese Awards, and for the Corbans Wine and Food Challenge. Simon recently completed a Certificate of Wine, and is partway through a Diploma of Community Nutrition.
